Human factors research is taking a constantly stronger position in determining optimal training, man-machine interaction (MMI) design, safety culture and attitudes, crew evaluation and selection etc. This is a reason for SimTrans to initially consider the bounds between the maritime, railways and the aviation industry formed by human factors.
